A few weeks ago I wrote DJI if they will implement an Option where the Phantom stores Locations of about 15-20 Seconds that can be used to let the Bird fly back to a Position where Signal still is present. SOme of us is often flying only with the Display an may forgett to keep track of possible...
"unnecessary tinkering" ? I prefer to be in a safe Mode than loosing my QC.
Btw: if You crash Your QC, what do You think was the Reason for that?
And why do You try to continue flying a damaged QC?

Sorry Guys, You are all wrong...
1. You all use the Feets to Calibrate (Level) which ist totally wrong. The Motors are the Point to Measure.
2. the few Grams do not make really a difference.
3. After Firmwareupgrades: make a new Calibration, not every 6 Month !
After a Crash or hard Landing...
I wrote DJI and suggested them to integrate a Leveltool into the Topshell of their Drones to simplify IMU Calibration
