Why would you update FW? I probably wont

They certainly have per the "Go App Terms of Use" you have to agree to in order to use GEO unlocking map: 16. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration 1. ... you and DJI agree that every dispute arising in connection with these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration... YOU...

    Litchi altitude

That's actually a perfect example of where people get confused. Waypoint 1 with a "height" of 98 feet is located on the 600 foot elevation line. So it seems logical that W1 is at 698 feet altitude. But it's not. It depends on where you take off from. In your example, if you take off from...

    Litchi altitude

Minor quibble here: All waypoint heights in Litchi refer to height above the Homepoint (not relative to waypoint 1). Because it works that way, you can basically copy a mission and plant it anywhere on the earth. The heights are always relative to where you start up the Phantom.

    Litchi altitude

Absolutely. As you mentioned earlier, the Litchi Mission Hub helps you do that if you select "Map" and check the "Terrain" box. Another example for those who don't know about this:

    Litchi altitude

You can set a waypoint as low as 200 meters below the home point. Here's an example from iOS Litchi ver. 1.2.1 (I know it's old): I just checked and the current Mission Hub will also allow negative 200m waypoints. I've never tried loading one like this onto the P3. It might not accept it...

    Litchi now on iOS

Max between waypoints is 2000 meters. Max total length of mission for all waypoints is 10,000 meters, limited by P3 firmware the last I tested it. That may have changed since then or be different for P4. If you have set end of mission as "Return to Waypoint 1" the last waypoint must be...

    Control multiple Phantoms

The question is whether more than one Phantom can be paired to a single remote controller the way you used to be able to do with Blade 350QXs. Like this: I doubt it though, since unlike the old 350, there is a lot of 2 way communication going on between a P3 and its RC.

How do I update these things

Oh! You mean the guide that starts out with: "Using the DJI GO App to Update All Firmware Always use the latest version of the DJI GO app to update your firmware. " And then on page 5 it finally makes a reference to using an SD card to update the aircraft. I've done about 10 firmware updates...

    Litchi recording?

Litchi records a video of your screen. The resolution that's saved is the same as you would have seen live. Here's the sequence: Note the "Save" button at the top right of the last pic. You need to click that to save the video to the phone or iPad.

Register by paper if operate outside US?

Of course the FAA doesn't have the staff for this. I was considering not registering until I saw a post last week reporting that the FAA is attempting to enlist local law authorities in enforcing these "regulations". See the linked "LEO Guidance" card FAA is promoting all over the country...

Register by paper if operate outside US?

Maybe I should have been more concise. Why does the FAA say you need to register by paper if you "intend" to take your craft outside the U.S.?

Register by paper if operate outside US?

The FAA registration site has the following on the first page: "Owners must register their UAS by paper if it meets the following guidelines: Your aircraft is used for commercial purposes. Your aircraft is used for other than hobby and recreation. Your aircraft is greater than 55 lbs. You...

Another New IOS Pilot App Drone Volt Pilot

My thoughts? "No-Fly-Zones Management We provide in our app the maximum security we can by using the DJI No-Fly-Zones system to make you avoid flying over restricted areas." Just what I need; another app to get this in my area: 3 weeks ago there were 9 No Fly Zones around where I live. As...

Will You Upgrade to New GEO Firmware/App?

You guys might not think DJI is making "Progress" if you lived someplace like Portland, where the No-Fly "Authorization" Zones have multiplied about 10 times in the last 2 weeks. Here's Airmap's view of the Portland area on Tuesday. This is what DJI's zones looked like a couple weeks ago...

    Litchi now on iOS

Thanks Jerry! I wish it wasn't too late to follow all your advice. I fly with my iPad but have used my iPhone for testing app updates. I updated my phone from 2.2 to 2.5 by accident. The App Store was still showing 2.4.3 when I tapped "update". App Store was wrong and gave me 2.5. The phone...
