Thank you Smiller for the clarification. Sounds like the side sensors would have been no help to me in this situation. I'm still looking to buy a P4 Pro.
I'm sure this question has been dealt with before but I can't seem to find a definitive answer so sorry if it causes someone to repeat themselves.
I was doing a POI around a house with my P3A and stupidly misjudged the distance to a tall pine tree. The P3A crashed into it sideways.
The...
A couple weeks ago, I went over to the coast to film the big waves we get this time of year in Northern California.
Halfway through the second battery, I lost sight of my P3A and crashed it to a seaside cliff. I've been flying Phantoms for about four years and this was pure unadulterated...
I second the sentiments of the original poster. What as DJI thinking limiting the mounting to phone size devices? Anyone doing serious photography needs larger than a phone screen monitor.
I'm having a horizon tilt issue after my P3 fell about 20 feet after losing a propeller. The horizon is always tilted to the left by about 15 degrees but when I yaw 90 degrees or more ( either direction ) it levels out briefly and then gradually tilts back. My P2v+ had a tilt problem after a...
I also have no video feed on my P2V+ ver 3 but have telemetry, etc. Latest firmware everywhere. Latest app on multiple tablets and phone. Following the ping testing described earlier in this thread, I am not getting a ping response from 192.168.1.10 although I do get a response from the ".1"...
The bill seems almost random and capricious. It's supposedly trying to protect the privacy of people and their property by outlawing photography from a drone but nothing about taking images of the same people and property using any number of other devices, a camera, cell phone, etc. A person...
After almost two years of flying in a particular San Jose city park and hundreds of flights, this morning a ranger stopped by and told me no remote controlled devices are allowed in city parks. I was done flying in the deserted park, thanked him for the information and left.
if you mean "Home Lock" I also used it all the time on my P2v+ and really miss it on the P3. It made it so easy to fly past something while yawing to keep in in frame. Course Lock is OK for this purpose also but I'm partial to Home Lock. Also great as a no brainer to bring the quad back toward...
I've worked on my manual POI quite a bit although I don't claim to be good at it. One thing I notice, which is something acherman alluded to, is that using only right ( or left ) stick and yaw will cause you to gradually drift away from the subject. To keep a constant distance from the object...
Recently I attempted to film city hall in my city because it's an large and interesting building. Pre-takoff everything looked perfect. At a height of about 20 feet, I got a "compass calibration error due to strong electromagnetic fields". ( not sure of the exact verbage ). The P3 started...
I would love POI but at this point I would be happy if DJI would just bring back Home Lock. I use that a lot with my P2V+ and miss it on my P3. I use Course Lock but it's not as useful.
