Flying Phantom 4 Over 1,600 Feet

I routinely fly my two Phantom 4s over 1,000 feet on my private properties in Central America. When 1,600 feet is reached, the program informs me by voice that I have reached maximum altitude. Is there a way that I can set an override or a higher altitude. I do not perceive a need to go over...

    Phantom 4 Night Blades

Yes there were attempts by CP-copter folks to do this, but they typically failed due to vibration and larger batteries/light sources back in the day. This blade lighting system is unique on many counts - hats off to the inventor!!

Anyone brought a quad to Costa Rica?

We are in the Orosi Valley about an hour and a half SE of the airport in San Jose - midway between the 2 oceans at 1300 meters. Not near the beaches where you will be. We're in the States now. Have fun with your drone!

Anyone brought a quad to Costa Rica?

Yes I often do. I have a coffee farm in the Cartago area and take my P4 down without incident. The country is considering drone legislation now but I think it only relates to flight regulations, not access to the country. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots

    What is this?

Do not remove it! I did and my P4 gimbal and camera were jettisoned at 350 feet. On decent (exactly 275 feet) the smart battery was ejected. Luckily I was flying in a grassy field and the bird only sustained minor damage. On return home, I sifted through the trash basket, found the adhesive...

    Issues Involved re Replacement Drone

I lost my P3 while flying near 1,000 feet at 1.5 mile range over my private property in Costa Rica. The bird ran out of battery power. Since it was out of site, I couldn't do much. The weak signal did not let me bring it back, and the "go home" feature did not work. I plan to buy another P3 Pro...

    Camera Severely Beaten Up

I am in the midst of a Costa Rican photo trip - taking off and landing in locations under thick tree canopy. My P3Pro crashed in the tree cover. It has been flying well despite some significant motor issues. I easily fly to 700 feet - required for many shots - with excellent control. The main...

    Severe Prop Crash

Thank you Eaglegoaltender! Sound advice. I am in Costa Rica, with temperatures in the 70s. I do not have access to the varnish/paint you suggest so will lower flight times and let the props cool the motors on landing. Question: When I return to the States, where do I get the 2 motors I will...

    Severe Prop Crash

Dirty Bird: it started smoking about 3 seconds after rhe crash. I burned my hsnd slightly because it was so hot. The smoking started getting worse, so I blew into the motor sockets. The amount of smoke was considerable. Again, I'm amazed it is still flying. I had brought along rhe Phantom...

    Severe Prop Crash

Here is a pic of the motor coil. I can't show you the bolts below because after the crash I installed PhantomGuard protectors. I needed to carve a little around the affected bolt holes where plastic had melted to install them. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots mobile app

    Severe Prop Crash

I took off and landed my Phantom 3 Pro on some well tended grass. Upon landing, the rear props dug into the turf. White smoke started coming out of the rear motors and semi melted the plastic housing before I could shut things down. The copper coils in the rear 2 rotors now have a black color...
