So, the bird and RC are linked. Is the GoApp linked by wifi to the RC? .....if so, What does the GoApp screen show..'Disconnected' or 'Ready to Fly'? When you say "It" wants to activate the drone.....what is "IT"?

It would be very interesting to see the results of the FAA drone detection test once completed, and each of the parameters used to determine those results.

In my case, I haven't updated the firmware on my P3S's since 2016. They fly great, with no additional limits....and NONE of that GeoFencing garbage DJI came up with a few years ago If it flies great, don't mess with it. Remember, DJI no longer supports the P3S, so beware. Calibrate...

@Candoman62 .... If you are doing any bench testing INSIDE, be sure to take the props off the drone. It is simple......2 are clockwise, 2 are counter-clockwise. With props off you can test startup and takeoff procedures without the drone jumping up and chasing you across the room. Plus...

Ok. (The main light on the RC should be green also)......and once the bird has completed warming up, the front LED lights should be solid red, and the rear LED lights should be blinking green. Can you fill us in on what you see on the GoApp?.......like 'Ready to Fly', number of satellites...

No. Absolutely not. My P3S's have been asking to update the firmware since 2016......and both fly flawlessly. Firmware updates are notorious for causing more problems than they fix. And since DJI no longer supports the P3 Standard, if it bricks.....well......it will make a good...

Welcome to the Forum. As stated earlier, do NOT mess with a firmware update at this time. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the bird and r/c to link. Check out msingers' site 'Phantomhelp.com' for everything Phantom. Just be sure to select the correct drone model from the drop-down...

Might as well try and see what you're dealing with. Be sure the batteries charge up for the bird and the R/C. Create a preflight checklist of required steps to get started. Note : If you do any bench testing INSIDE, be sure to take the props OFF the bird before power up. You don't...

This is the linking procedure for the drone and r/c not using the app. Both the lights on the drone and the r/c will be green when linked. As mentioned before, do NOT mess with the firmware yet.

It is unfortunate that both the drone AND the drone pilot were injured in the test flight. I think we all have been 'nicked' at one time or another by the props. I 'hand catch' 99% of the time, so I'm a bit extra careful now. That one time it got me really got my attention......so...
