    Flying over fields

As I understand it, in UK he does not own the airspace, provided you adhere to the CAA regs. This is a sad example of drone flying being seen as anti-social in this country because people are buying cheap [& uncontrollable!] drones for kids, who think they're toys. I always try to ask permission...

Phantom 3 Pro or Mavic Pro

I downloaded Adobe Premiere 16 & got a LEGAL activation key on Ebay for £25 - accepted by Adobe. However, you are right in that my PC [i5 chip, 8gb ram + 1gb graphics ram] struggles to render anything over 1080p - & quality is fine on 42" TV

Phantom 3 Pro or Mavic Pro

At last, the Mavic Pro 2 has a one inch sensor, which will undoubtedly reduce noise & should yield better images IF the lens is up to the job. However, it won't necessarily be DSLR quality, since presumably the focal point is optimised to give enough depth of field for infinity & as close as...

Stress cracks with unit out of warranty - what are my options?

Thanks. I've fitted reinforcing plates on the motor arms as well. The thing looks a lot better. Fingers crossed & thumbs up! I'm amazed they do that on aircraft carring people. Though, having flown a lot in a Tupelev, maybe not.......

    Stress cracks

Thanks. That's reassuring. My worry is that I will have trouble aligning the motor to refit the longer screws provided with the reinforcing plates

Stress cracks with unit out of warranty - what are my options?

Thanks. Masking tape is a good idea - so obvious but I hadn't thought of it!

Stress cracks with unit out of warranty - what are my options?

I am thinking of fitting reinforcing plates. How easy is it? I'm a bit scared of removing the screws holding the motors, in order to replace them with longer ones to accommodate the plates. Any tips gratefully received!

    Stress cracks

I like the idea of the metal motor mounts [ just had to have shell replaced & I don't want it to happen again!] How easy are these to fit? I'm a bit scared of taking the motor screws out to replace them with the longer screws that come with the plates because obviously the motors will be loose...

    stress cracks & reinforcement plates

Hi guys [& gals] Has anyone had experience of fitting reinforcement plates to the arms of the P3? I have just had to have the shell replaced because of stress cracks, which I believe are an unwanted free extra with the P3! There are some old posts about these reinforcement plates, but the...

    drone repair in UK

I hope this is appropriate for this forum: I am not advdertising in any way. However, for drone pilots in UK, I feel I must say this. I have just had a repair done by The Drone Doctor. Their repair & postage costs were reasonable. However, I had a problem with the courrier, DPD, & to my...

    P3A motor noise

Yeah I live in rural Wales. To my knowledge, nobody within 50 miles owns a drone! I doubt my ability to change the motor myself, so it's gone off to be repaired. £60 GB including carriage & 24 hour turn araound. Probably cheaper than the mess I might make trying to take the thing apart myself...

    P3A motor noise

Thanks. I think I'd better send it to a repair shop. Thanks for your advice

    P3A motor noise

How kind! I know the theory but I'm clumsy. By the way, hope you're not travelling by drone.... Yes, the prop in question doesn't seem to run quite true. Bent shaft? Unlikely as I haven't crashed it [bought used off gumtree 6 weeks ago]. I assume the motor bell is the bright metal cylinder that...

    P3A motor noise

Thanks, Nigel. I'm out tomorrow so will look into that on Tuesday. It may be my imagination, but I think the prop is corkscrewing very slightly , though it doesn't affect handling. I've tried replacing the prop. As for replacing bearings / motor: I'm a retired English teacher !!!! Is there...

    P3A motor noise

Me too. One of the motors making a high pitched squeal. It's a bit noisy if you spin the prop, compared to the other 3 which are very smopoth. There is about 2mm up & down play in the motor housing. I checked the screws - all tight. Wondering if it's a bearing? I don't fancy trying to change the...
