I was clear to fly but DJI said no.

Grid altitude was 200 feet, on LAANC I only requested 150 feet and it was granted. I just went and looked on DJI's geofence map and it is completely different from the FAA charts. Totally lame.

Are stress cracks like this really a big deal?

True!... I came from the days you had to solder everything together and build from a kit, so for me it was fairly easy, but yes, the average Joe, not real easy.

I was clear to fly but DJI said no.

I had the same isse yesterday. I was near an airport, got my LAANC authorization, yet DJI would not let me take off. There was no (apparent) option even to go to DJI to secure their approval. This is on the DJI FPV setup, which is a bit different that the Phantom menu. Totally sucks, I have been...

You might also try on the commercial drone pilots group... a lot more of this sort of info there :-)

... or buy a new shell. I did that once after a "hard landing" :) Are new shells available?

I think there were two factors. I got one of the very first ones to come out and I think the firmware allowed it at the time. The other factor would be the wind I think I was getting a boost! Again back then the firmware seemed to allow. I think now it will compensate and keep you at the max...

Are stress cracks like this really a big deal?

I just used superglue on mine, it's held up fine - that being said it has not been my primary flyer for a couple years now :)

Anyone flying a P2 just for FPV?

Hey All, The P2 (and P1 I suppose!) are pretty much dead breed I think. Although I have current DJI models that I fly I am wondering that since the P2 is pretty much a dead dinosaur if anyone has converted it to full FPV, just for the sake of an FPV flyer?... I have an old P2 with full FPV...

    The cost(s) of working....Insight requested

That's for sure, had a very competitive quote in for a pipeline and the company engineer has decided to do it himself... hope he follows the rules, it's only 1.25 NM from the local airport...

    Drone Registration Down 50%

R.I.D is at least 3 years out.... I wonder if sales overall is also down... or as someone else mentioned maybe many are going sub 250 gram machines?....

    New tracker for iphone users

Exactly, this is BLUETOOTH, not a GPS tracker. Unless you, or someone else running the app gets close enough (within Bluetooth range) it's worthless. This is just like TILE, only with Apple marketing and extra bells and whistles. Also, these do not connect directly to the cell tower, they...

    Best LAANC app??

I personally prefer AirMap... even though I don't like their political policies and (insider) FAA involvement. I find it easier to use that KittyHawk.

    Dinosaur?

I don't mind the downsizing... but I still want the QUALITY... which is why I think many of us are eager for the release of the Mavic 3. I reluctantly sold my trusty P4P when I got my MP2. The quality of the MP2 was good enough for the work I am doing and for me the portability is a big plus. I...

P3P lightsbridge or Boscam 600mw for flir.

Just thinking you might try the Inspire or Matrice forum for this... they do a lot more FLIR stiff with those birds. Just a thought.
