spare vision+ what to do with it ?

I say keep it and use it to practice flying or for the (possible) day you damage your other bird but have an intact camera/gimbal. If you want to spend for a new H3-3D gimbal, that's another thing. But using it for VFR flying can be a lot of fun, too.

My Phantom Went R.I.P. in the Ocean Today...

I'm sorry to hear of this loss, too. Many of us have been through it (or close) - you can see. Yesterday, I had a situation where I was filming low over a small creek for some water shots. It happened that one of the blades hit a small branch and the bird flipped. No obvious damage to the...

    Phantom 2 at Chernobyl

Thank you for sharing this. It really is amazing to see a place virtually abandoned for 30 years. I only hope we never have to abandon another part of our planet for the same reason ever again.

kill switch and 'chute to prevent flyaways

Having a chute doesn't necessarily guarantee a safe landing, right? The chute won't be controllable, right, so trees, roads with cars, water, and buildings, and other things could lead to trouble. It seems to me that deliberately putting something onto one's craft that does not allow for a...

Use of Manual Mode for fast descents

When I remove my props after having been on for a while, they get pretty tight and I might need the prop removing tool to help take them off. I also usually tighten my props a little bit when putting them on so there is some "grip". Don't you?

    Cutting Phantom Motors Mid-Flight

So there obviously is a logic sequence regarding shutoff that involves input from motion detectors. Is there information available on this? I wonder if the Phantom will start up when it is tumbling or falling. Is there documentation of anyone who was willing to throw the Phantom off a...

    Too scared to try!

I want to know whether the Phantom will right itself after it's been turned off for a few seconds in mid flight and how long it might take.

    Pennsylvania law

I live in the Western suburbs of Philadelphia. I fly in local parks. I am usually avoiding flying over anyone unless I am over 100 feet. I try not to scare anyone in any way. There are a few state parks around here. I fly similarly there. I fly from my home. I take off from my property...

I could not figure out the configuration based on what I read. What motors? What props, etc. Does he share this?

FPVLR antennas on RC and Phantom - 5.8 and 2.4 both sides

Re: FPVLR antennas on RC and Phantom - 5.8 and 2.4 both side I did buy it! Tony shared, however, that there may be issues that require an attenuator. I'm still trying to figure that out. I will be testing tomorrow morning, but thanks for thoughts. I will share experience, too. 10,000 feet...

    5.8 bird antenna install

I think before asking that question, the more pertinent one might be who asked DJI to put that glue on there in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if someone (maybe even government entity) suggested/directed having that glue there.

FPVLR antennas on RC and Phantom - 5.8 and 2.4 both sides

Re: FPVLR antennas on RC and Phantom - 5.8 and 2.4 both side I downgraded my firmware and flew around a bit on the downgraded firmware. I definitely experienced the vortex instability when trying to descend too quickly and I did not like it - made me nervous. So, for now, I'm back to updated...
