Hand land it. There are many threads about hand landing and it is much easier than trying to land it on a rocking boat. Practice it on land until you are comfortable with hand landing.

Spacers between landing gear and body would not help to get props out of camera view.

Do an IMU cal. when aircraft is cold; that will shorten warm-up time. See other IMU threads for reason.

Compass is in the legs; maybe it was attached to same leg as compass? Battery swap should not affect compass unless phantom rebooted which could have made a difference.
