Final update. I received the repaired drone back yesterday and quickly realized they did not repair the old one but replaced it with a refurbished model. Which is fine since the fine print on the repair estimate states, they will either repair or replace. I have tested it and everything works...
All of this feedback confirms what I told DJI, this is not an isolated issue. They need to do a better job of resolving the issue in a positive manner. Obviously a design flaw.
Thanks for the article. I am hopeful that when I get the drone back it works flawlessly. But if it begins to lag I will have the solution. Because of not having live view I don't know if I had video lag or not. Hopefully they added the extra thermal pads when they repaired the gimbal.
Not sure about the freezer but I have definitely considered the refrigerator. I am sure the freezer would be colder than the operating perimeters allowed. I just wish I had read the forums BEFORE I borrowed my friends and experienced this frustrating issue. Good luck pilots.

It is just a black screen. I have spoken to DJI support and their only comment was send it back and we will fix it and send you the bill. I am hesitant to do that because I believe it is a FW issue. I will look at the logs and see what they say, maybe I missed something. Thanks for the comment.
