I feel more comfortable with full control. all i practiced with was Manual.
How do you enable manual mode? All the tuts and documentation i have read is for the phantom 2

To get right to the point, the fear of a fly away just ruins all the fun of flying for me. Id like to fly in a manual only with gps off so theres no way it could find a false home position, if possible, i can keep this fun toy.

Thats awsome range i had thought the 240mW transmitter with the fatshark only went 100-200 meters.
Ive seen the 580mW upgrade chip on amazon so i was doubtful on the range.

yeah good info I did need to get some altitude. did a test flight on a tether seemed to work fine, still drifted off a bit in gps mode, but I didn't calibrate the compass before that test flight so undoubtedly that was the issue.

I have the phantom 1.1.1 ( pretty sure ) forgive me for,the complete ignorance here... Litterally started flying these a weak ago. Practiced on a cheap x5c thinking it would be similar.

So after skimming through the vague quick start guide with no success after about an hour on google i figured out how to start my motors.
I callibrated the transmitter, then the drone, and the compass in that order.
