I'm kind of new when it comes to photography so I'm starting to learn about settings so I can take my photos to the next level. This applies to drones and regular cameras. I've looked into filters and have an idea why they are used. Will filters be beneficial with the Auto setting or should I wait until I'm more comfortable adjusting the settings myself?

Yes. I recently tested this and my P4 with a ND 16 filter my iso was automatically reduced to 100. The video was very nice. In manual on a sunny day with my ND 16 shooting 4K I adjust iso to 100 and shutter to 60 fps (sometimes more), color temp to 5500 , -1 sharpness, -1 contrast ,-1 saturation and when shooting over forest the green colors look natural. Color none or d cinelike. You have to play a lot with this as it really will depend on what device you view it on, the colors on my very good laptop (real nice) are not the same as on my samsung tv.
