Wifi only ipad mini 2nd gen- no gps! Would this work??

So.. my Ipad mini 2nd gen doesn't have GPS as it's wifi only. Has anyone tried using a GPS "Puck" with the pilot app to enable pilot HP or even Follow Me modes? Check out this link..

I've never tried it -- but, it's a bit cheaper on Amazon.

Thanks Msinger.. I did some additional searching and found this one which picks up simultaneous GPS and GLONASS. It's more expensive but cheaper than buying a new ipad mini . It will be interesting to see if anyone had tried this.

Why can't you just link it to your phone?? That's what I do and it works fine

The mini can connect to iphone 6+ for cellular but it won't actually give gps access to apps on the mini- others have tried this route just trying to get a bigger navigation map using the mini and cellular connection on the phone. Do you know another way to connect the two? If so, please share... it would save me $$
