wi fi extender mod problem

Hi there..I installed a tl ant2414a to my p2v+ and during the installation I damaged the stock antenna lining on the antenna. .I installed just one pt link antenna and attached it to the side that I damaged. .I figure that I don't need that lining since I added the pt link antenna. I didn't see any range increase..should I replace the wi fi extender and try again or try to attach the pci to the other antenna lead? Or any ideas where i made my mistake? Thanks turbodronepilot

2nd flight went much better..I un hooked the tp link antenna and the drone only flew about 800 feet out..then I hooked it back up and got an increase to 2300 ft..only difference from my first flight was that I was closer to the antenna. .guess I'll add another tl ant2424a to hopefully get around 3000 ft..then a controller mod is next..thanks turbodronepilot
