Why not 1080i x 60fps?

I've seen many posts including this great tutorial https://vimeo.com/104192378 and the conclusion seems to be the best video capture setting is 1080p x 30fps.

I just wondered as there is an option for double the frame rate and surely better smooth panning movement (1080i x 60fps) why more people don't use it?

Just saying..
