Hi!
I recently bought a new landing gear for the phantom 2. I noticed that the legs are to thick for the can bus module to fit. My question is: can I remove this?

Sincerely, lucas

the CAN-BUS plug is only used if you add in a CAN-BUS device like an iOSD Mini or I think something about the Groundstation might use it.
Most people that put in a FPV system go ahead and move that CAN-BUS connector up inside the Phantom body anyway. no, it isn't flight or operation critical you can remove it or just move the plug up inside the body (you disconnect the end bit, pull the cable up, then reconnect the end bit) if you might install FPV later

There is another attached-to-leg device, which is the COMPASS. it's the thing attached to a leg but there's no other connector.
the compass IS flight critical so you need to make sure you reattach that.

Remove the entire cable and store with your other accessories.

Why 'carry' it around for nothing.

Ok so don't laugh. Just bought a used Phantom 2 as my first drone. Have yet to put it in the air. I won't be able to use the camera because it didn't come with the zenmuse H3-2d video connection cable. While watching you tube videos I realised that there is another chip I may be missing but I'm not sure. There is a TCX 1438 Hub with an open 8 pin port. By looking at a schematic I found that is is for a Can-bus. But I'm not sure if I need it or the anti interference chip that also wasn't including . Please give me some pointers.

Welcome to the community! There are many members who are willing to give assistance with problems like yours, it just takes patience and persistence. The Phantom 2 is built like a tank, and it is easy to get into it’s internals for repairs and upgrades, however I myself am unfamiliar with that aircraft. Hopefully you’ll find what you need!
