I'm using the PolarPro ND and it works fine. Camera is mounted on H3-3D gimbal The gimbal appears to not have any issue with the filter being there - no extra noise, slowness or strain. I haven't seen the need to counterbalance. I haven't used the other one so can't offer a comparison.

I can't advise on which filter to get, but I wanted to chime in and say with my H3-2D, it did in fact shut down due to me not having a counterbalance in place.

Just a heads up.

+1 on the Polar Pro - I'm happy with results. Haven't used other.

Fink - which filter caused your H3-2D to shut down?
