What additional extras do I need

Right I have my brand new FC40 plus 2 additional non DJI batteries is there anything else i should consider purchasing?

There are quite a few upgrades worth looking at. It depends on how much you are looking to spend. On the low end of the spectrum, there is a sunshade for the camera and for your smartphone all the way to the high end antenna mods.

A couple sets of props . Not if , but when ...you crash you can keep flying.

Prop guards make the props last much longer.

I've only gone through about 5 or 6 sets of props, thanks to the guards

As the others pointed out, additional props and prop guards. Paint the front set red, if they're not already, and it aids with orientation, between the guards and the lights it's hard to not tell which way you're aimed. A better charger will help your batteries life, and perform a bit quicker. The Traxxas EZ-Peak Plus is good option that's easy to setup and use.
