In an attempt to try to help orientation if put some black tape on the outside of the front landing legs of my P3S. However, this resulted in a weak signal and some very erratic information on the DJI GoApp so had to land immediately.
I would still like to colour the legs in some way but now a bit wary of applying paint or any other 'coating'
I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but be warned!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Phantom Pilots forum. I hope that you will take advantage of the benefits that come with membership and that you will be able to use the forum for the exchange of innovative ideas and as a resource for current developments in Phantom quadcopter’s.

Unless you tape was metallic in some way it would not interfere with signal. You could dye the legs or paint them. I have dyed my P2 parts. You will need 'poly-dye' which can be found in any craft store, even Walmarts.

Yes, regular black tape shouldn't have caused any problems.

This is a great example of 'correlation is not causation'.

Any non metallic material of the size and shape of tape will have no effect on RF performance.
