Walkera g-2d gimbal, does it work on phantom 2?

Please can someone help me. I'm going mental.

I bought this

I also bought the phantom 2. Just the quadcopter. I have a go pro 4. So wanted to use this with the gimbal I linked.

However the bottom of my phantom 2 has 4 screws holes see pic here:

The mount for the gimbal looks like this:

As you can see the holes just don't line up.

I have watched you tube clips of people using this combination so what am I doing wrong , do I need another part that sits between the drone and the gimbal and will allow that cross bit to fit ?

I have watched tutorial vids and other phantoms seem to have a different undercarriage that supports this cross shaped mount , please please help me. Do I need a new gimbal ? Or just an extra part?

but If I mount this part can I then fit the cross shaped mount of my existing gimbal into it?
