The IBCrazy Bluebeam Mad Mushroom antenna I had attached to an ImmersionRC 5.8 GHz vTx fell off during flight... I thought I had it screwed on securely, but I guess not?

Anyway, I have read many times that having the vTx powered without and antenna can burn it up. Although the vTx is still working, is it possible I 'stressed' it or did some kind of damage to it?

I have no idea why it fell off...

That antenna mount is one I fingertip-check before every flight, I've found it easily gets knocked loose when handling the aircraft on the ground. As long as you can pinch it and twist it snug it should be good for the flight.

If your video quality still looks good, you probably dodged a bullet. I've honestly had my Immersion 600mW left on a few times w/o the antenna and it seems to be as good as ever. But, the point is still valid that it can (and often does) cause a burnout so always best to have the antenna on.
