Vision plus distance

Okay, to the point.
I have phantom vision plus that's two weeks old. It's a clear field, sun shining, 9 am peeerrrrfect setting.
Why can I only get 1200 feet (365 meters) distance when connection is broken?
Are you not supposed get up 700 meters. I was at least hoping for 500 to meters

I just received a second radio. I'm going to bastardize it and not touch the original.
Hope to get some value for my dollar

Any input ???

You should at least get 800-1000 meters of range, like mine unless you did not set to FCC mode which should beep twice on turning on.

It is set to FCC, and isn't just for altitude ?

Okay, you got me. I'm a newbie don't have a clue. I've owned the vision plus for two weeks. Reading some message boards I was uncertain to.

the fact that you thought FCC/CE mode only affects altitude shows that you have not fully read the manual.

#1 Make SURE you are in FCC mode
#2. Do you have limits set in the software that limit your range?
#3. Are you aiming your transmission antenna straight up to the sky so that the long side of the antenna is facing the Phantom?
#4. Are you aiming the topside of your range extender towards the Phantom?

Yes the radio goes beep, beep when turned on. I am in FCC mode
I'll check the settings in the software.

Anyone know where to buy a bigger antenna and the 6" coaxial wire for the radio?
I bought another radio to tear apart
