Video Download on my Macbook Pro

Hello,

I just took my first flight and video and WOW !! Love his Phantom quadcopter. The only problem I am having currently is when I download the video into final cut pro X the entire video when clicked on it goes black...... any help would be appreciated.

Its a standard mov file, i just import into iMovie and then cut and crop bits out i don't want.
