Using the DJI tilt lever for non Zenmuse solution?

A quick question for the guru's out there:

I want to use the P2 with a compact stills camera and have camera tilt functionality. I have found a great vibration dampened mount (here on this forum) but need a way of adding the tilt capability. If I buy a stock servo is there a way to control it using the existing lever on the back of the standard (now older model) controller? I am very un-educated when it comes to electronics but since the Zenmuse gimbal was fully controllable and adjustable in the assistant software there must be a way to do this... Anyone?

I believe the answer is yes. I think you can just hook the servo to the F2 channel of the Naza and control it with the 7th channel on the back of the controller. You will likely have to futz around with the Assistant software to get this working right.
