This is a tutorial on how to use the data you get from your Flytrex Core with Dashware software.

This is my first video tutorial, I hope you find it helpful.

Flytrex: http://www.flytrex.com/

Dashware: http://www.dashware.net/

Dashware Data Profile for Flytrex (see instructions in zip file):

I will keep updating the data profile as I create new gauges.

If anyone would like to post gauges they have made to share with others, please post them to the phantompilots forum here

PART 2

This video shows you how Dashware takes the original 7 data fields from your Flytrex CSV file and creates over 25 fields to use with your gauges.

Thank you Frank for all your hard work with this video and the tool set. I appreciate your willingness to share your efforts with the rest of us.

The new version of dashware includes all the Flytrex gauges I have made.

-Added support for Run.GPS CSV files.
-Changed Qstarz data profile to filter out bad GPS coordinates.

-Setup MoTeC data profile to use GPS coordinates, if they exist.
-Fixed a bug where the last few gauges were not showing up in the toolbox.
-Fixed a bug in the Data Viewer causing it to not pop up sometimes.

Frank,

great work, quick question. what video format are you using on the GoPro capture on the phantom, are you using protune at 1080?

The video runs smooth through Dashware but becomes very jerky when I sync the data file, not sure if its length of the video file, data file (14 minutes)

Loathed to buy full version until I see it running smoothly

Today Flytrex updated the CSV export file to include some new fields:

From Dev Log: New fields added to CSV file export: Max Altitude (feet), Max Ascent (feet), Max Speed (mph) and Max Distance (feet). Get be used to further enhance flight data display with third-party apps such as Dashware and similar.

I have created a new Dashware profile named ‘Flytrex Max’ and have updated some of the gauges to reflect the new MAX fields.

If you would like to use these new MAX fields in Dashware, please download the following ZIP file and follow instructions listed in the ZIP file.

Hi Fdnyfish,

Just installed Dashware 1.4.4 and then merged the contents from the link you provided:-
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/163 ... shware.zip

When I start Dashware I get a few errors regarding missing images in a few of the gauges in your pack. Also when I import my CVS file should I be using your Flytrex Max.xml or the Flytrex.xml file that comes with the latest Dashware?

Many thanks in advance

Flytrex Max is the data profile you want.

Not sure why you are getting errors.

Did you check the gauge folder for the images it says you are missing?

Tell me what gauges

Yes they are not in the zip from the dropbox download:-
Flytrex Corner Gauge 3 bars - title.png
Flytrex Dash - DASHWARE-logo-Final-C_200.png
Flytrex Dash - title.png

As an example. If I use the Flyrex Dash Gauge the max speed shows current speed. Easy fix as the wrong input is selected in the gauge. Also the max distance is locked to a 699 feet max. Again an easy fix as the restrict data range was set to 0 to 699.

Hope that helps explain it.

manually check the 2 following folders for the files below.
Flytrex Dash - DASHWARE-logo-Final-C_200.png (C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\DashWare\Gauges\DashWare Logo)
Flytrex Dash - title.png (C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\DashWare\Gauges\Flytrex)

do you have those folders?

Do you see the files in them?

Redownload and copy files again (I just uploaded a fixed flytrex dash)

Yes I have those images in the folder locations above. If I copy them into the folders for the 2 gauges then they load okay without error.

I updated the file.

On my system, those files were HIDDEN FILES, so when I made the zip file they were not selected.

Thanks for the find.

Many thanks for your help. Have watched the videos and just getting started with Dashware. Awesome so far.

Many thanks for the update. I am having trouble displaying the new date and time fields though. I think Dashware has a bug and it does not parse the data correctly.

As an example here is a section of the top line of my CSV file that contains the date/time data:-
20140319,16:01:10:0000,20140319,16:01:10:

When I click test from within the data profile editor it only parses the 16:01 part of the time and converts that to 961 seconds which is 16 minutes 1 second.

The date gets parsed correctly but dashware can not use the format that Flytrex uses and none of the date options for the dynamic text can be used to convert it to a valid date.

Anyone else have this issue?
