I've seen a set of stock white props with gold tips and I've also seen 3 bladed props. Has anyone tried them before?

The white with gold or white with silver props are just for show As for the tri-bladed ones, I haven't tried them.

Oh I see. I guess having anything on the tip wouldn't last long. Those things spin really fast.

The three-bladed props are likely to be rubbish.
Matching the props with the motors and ESCs is a science.
DJI engineers put a lot of effort into providing the best propulsion system.
You will not improve on their work by mixing random after market bits.
Make sure you only use props with the composite hubs (not metal threads) specially designed for the P3.

DJI props work best and they won't void your warranty. You can find lots of colors here.
