Hi guys, sorry for the newbie question... What happens when in middle of flight you accidentally unplug the USB cable that connects to your tab/iPhone/iPad?

Cheers

The DJI GO app will be disconnected from your Phantom. That means you'll lose the video connection, flight stats, etc. You only need your remote controller to fly, so your Phantom will continue to fly per the usual.

Technically you can still fly your P3 with difficulties.

The P3 will fly just the same. The only difficult part is that you'll have no FPV or flight stats.

Also the Return to home-function should work, without the app...

Can you actually start / take off with your P3 even if you dont have any ipad/iphone just by switching the RC and the airplane on and hold sticks to fly off?

Just slowly plug it back in. In fact, a good idea to mark the top of the usb plug so you can easily ID the correct way to go in. It saves damage to repeatedly trying to get it in ... in the correct orientation:confused:

My battery on the phone ran flat and the phone switched itself off once while doing some in-field testing. No big issue, I was able to fly it back manually, but it would have been rather uncomfortable if this had been a flight where the phantom was a good distance out.

You can fly the unit without FPV, but it's not easy.
