usb cable to connect controller to tablet

I was wondering if it is helpful to use a micro usb cable to connect my phantom 3 standard controller to my android tablet? I know it is not necessary, as it connect thru the wifi, but was just curious if there would be any benefit to do this.

And you plan to do this how? As far as I know a Standard does not have a USB port, unless you have an HDMI module.

That's not possible. Wi-Fi is the only option.

Ok thanks, I was wondering about the usb charging port on controller so thought it might be for data also. I was thinking I saw you tube videos of people with cables connected to tablets and phones, but maybe that was different controller. I asked 1st so as not to do something I shouldn't!

You've seen videos of people using Lightbridge Phantoms which don't use wifi.
They use a cable to connect the tablet and controller.
