Update or Don't Update?

P3P user here - I haven't flown for about 2 months or so but will occasionally read on the forums about the DJI products. My concern is seeing some people complaining about the new DJI Go App and the flight registering system. Currently my Iphone has DJI Go where this was not the norm. In the app store it states the version to be uploaded is 3.1.11 June 2, 2017.

I express this concern due to the last time I did updates and FW upgrades my P3P bricked itself with the ESE Errors and required me to send it to DJI to be repaired. What are my options here, I would like to fly some and would like to do so without having any major headaches.

Will this limit me in flying? Like restrict me or cut back in the features? Like will it only hover or will it fly as normal?

If you don't update it will behave exactly as it did last time you flew it.
