Hi,

Quick query about the UK CAA regulations on flying within 50 metres of people / property.

I assumed that this meant a 50 metre horizontal radius. However, I'm now wondering if it includes altitude - which wouldn't make sense given the usual effects of gravity?!

Thanks in advance,
Chris

'Within'... I take as 'no closer than'

OK.
What I am getting at is whether within 50 metres can be interpreted as purely vertical. I.e. I can hover directly over property / persons as long as my altitude is 50m.

(Just for the record I have no intention of hovering directly over people / property...)

No, I don't interpret it as purely vertical AGL. I take it is as just don't get closer than 50m, from any position. I'm pretty sure thats what it means.
