I've had my Phantom about a month now and have flown it almost every day since buying it. Yesterday I was flying in a field and suddenly the right-hand joystick controls seem to have no effect. I could still control throttle and rotation (left stick) but no forward-backward or left-right.

I also noticed that the Phantom was drifting slightly in the wind despite being in GPS mode.

After retieving from a neighbor's roof, I replaced the internal battery and took her up again. Same thing after about a minute of flying. Transmitter batteries measured 5.4 volts with the transmitter on so I don't think that had anything to do with it.

I'm very reluctant to fly it anymore, especially if I have the GoPro onboard.

Does anyone know if this is a firmware issue (I have the latest version)?

Thanks,

John

That sounds like you have the limit set and the phantom hit that limit. Do you have 4.0? If you do, set the limit to 2000 and 2000 in assistant SW. There is a glitch in 4.0

Thanks - I think you're right. I had previously set a limit then went to fly from an area other than where the initial GPS fix had been. Phew! Thanks again.

John
