All,of a sudden the aeroxcraft gimbal started shaking in the initialization phase, and when flying twitched wildly every few seconds. I was thinking I had yet another bad gimbal story after so many nice flights. I figured out the problem. I had put foam pads on the landing skids to cushion landings. In the gentle breeze as the Phantom was warming up it rocked imperceptibly. The gimbal requires absolute quiet to initialize. Every time it rocked in the breeze, the phantom would rock on its foam pads a mm or two, the gimbal would reset a mm or two and shake the Phantom, and the whole thing started a steady feedback loop like the Phantom had the shakes. the gimbal was useless in this situation. It looked like a short circuit. Getting rid of the soft foam on the skids and getting the Phantom out of the wind eliminated the gimbal tremors.
