Turn off Phantom 2 IN AIR to fall and save battery

I've seen this done quite a few times with different quads on a NAZA. The thing is, the success rate (successful recovery of attitude) seems to be about 60-70% :O

Those aren't numbers I like!

If you're going to do this, you might as well go into Naza-M mode and drop in manual, which is more than what you'd need to get down in excess of the 2m/s limit.

Ballsy the first time, ballsier the second time.
I gather he did this without FPV? One Mississippi, two Mississippi,...?

Flytrex should put up a couple free-fall categories:
Max descent rate, and live to tell about it... ;)
Total meters fallen power off, and live to tell about it... ;)

Manual mode idle is a whole lot safer & smarter, IMHO.

Good grief his motors sound rough !!

I don't give his bearings many more hours/minutes before one of them fails !!!!
