Trying to link new controller and I get "RC signal lost" error

It seems I'm able to link the new controller to the P3standard - at least it says it's linked but the yellow lights flash quickly and there is an RC Signal Lost warning. What gives? There is a camera transmission but I cannot control the gimble.

Hi... I'm new to this. My experience:
I updated the firmware then my phantom 3 standard display "RC signal lost". On the bottom of the drone is a small hole , which was red. Push that red light, with something long skinny. Hold for 3 seconds then the light turned green...... then I had connection..... problem solved for good...[emoji16] hope this helps...
