Hello everyone,

In two days I will go to Bali from Barcelona, and I want to take the drone with me...

Somebody knows if it's dificult to pass the airport control with the batteries? How much batteries can I carry?

I need some help on this issue...

Thank you!

Flying into bali shouldn't be an issue
It's usually recommended to take the batteries with you as carry-on (for safety reasons)
And take a reasonable amount (i would say less than 3) but you should be able to fly with more. You need to check your airline's regulation for this.
and if the custom's question you, make sure you explain you are a tourist (if they ask you to pay tax on it) and will not be leaving the phantom in Indonesia after your holidays.

As for what to see in Bali,
I just did a 2 days tour around Bali with the phantom 4 yesterday (not the best weather for video but the weather should clear by the time you are here)
Here is the video :

Let me know how it goes, Bali is a future destination for us and would like to bring my P3P.

Hi Teo,

Really liked your video. The Star Wars VII trailer music will be a classic for sure.
Joking aside, you have a few aerial shots in there that have commercial value. Would you be interested in selling some of your footage. We specialise in the sale of exotic aerial footage to production houses worldwide.

Our recent footage of Bali has sold a number of times and we are looking to complement it with footage from other creative aerial cinematographers. The video is below.

Send me a note at the email below if you are interested. Some good opportunities for sure. As you will see on the site, we only do exotic content.

As Teo said, take the reasonable amount batteries with you as carry-on (for safety reasons). Domestic flights should not gives you problems (I assume your hop is usually Barcelona - Jakarta then transit to Bali). I often brought Phantom several times as well as TBS Disco with 3-4 batteries from Jakarta to Bali. International flights also mostly are ok, they sometimes just asking what is it when the backpack/case went through the scanner and show them that you have put precautions for the batteries such as put it inside a lipo bag.

One note, please never ever leave the battery inside your phantom (although not pushed in, or not turn on) while in transport/backpack, there were stupid cases (which happened in Bali airport) where the battery contact somehow gets hot and caused fire. Luckily the plane has not took off yet.

Hello. Sorry to hijack the thread but can i know which place in Bali is the first scene taken?

I'm supposed to be at this forum to learn techinques on P4 but got side track with the view :)

Thanks.

We have friends who own a home in Bali and they keep asking us to go with them. One of these days... that place is SO beautiful!!

Teo your video is stunning. Thank you for sharing :)

Teo,
What place is the first one on the video and around what time of the year were you there?.
My wife and I are planning a vacation and looks we are down to the Philippines or Indonesia-Bali.

Don't know if we are going to encounter issues coming back to the United States with the Drone as we hold "Global Entry" privileges passes.

Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply. The first shot was taken at Uluwatu temple. Please be advised that security guards at the temple will ask you to purchase a "permit" to fly in that area. It is actually indicated clearly at the entrance of the temple. You could theoretically shoot from far away, but you will then lose line of sight which is not recommended. The "permit" costs the equivalent of $200 USD. Just FYI.
Cheers

First sean with the dear is in menjengan (left most part of Bali)
There is a nature reserve :)

As for traveling with batteries,
Carry on is perfectly fine
And if they ask about the batteries, just make sure to saw they are less than the max 100mw (p4 is 81mw i think)

Good afternoon,
We actually distribute on behalf of the artists. Each artist is free to set the price they want for their footage, but our average sale price is around $400 USD/segment. We are positioned in the higher price range when compared to other stock sites, but we are extremely picky when it comes to the type of material we approve. That quality comes at a premium.

Feel free to communicate with me if you have any more questions. I am happy to provide whatever info you need. In the meantime, you can visit our company website to get a better sense of the type of footage we sell: www.aerial-entertainment-studios.com

Cheers
