I've have logged many of flights 30 or so with the prop guards on. I like the looks of them and I know they give able protection but want to get a little more flight time, will taking them off help gain some time? I also plan to get the Vision 9" props eventually. Currently I get with the 2200mah lipo @8-9 min and @10 or so w/2700 lipo.

I think loosing the prop guards will not give a lot of extra flight time but will make the quad a bit more smooth in flying. The prop guards induce extra drag during flight (and in winds) so the flight characteristics are different. Weight is the main thing when it comes to flight time. The quards don't weigh that much. For example, attached som very bulky 'floats' to the landing gear yesterday and it effected overall flying but not the flight time. When it comes to making really smooth video shots you want the guards off.
