Apples/oranges, however a p4 pro is quite a step up in price. The regular p4 is already $200 more than a Mavic.

Good question. Depends on the circumstances. The mavic has better portability, newer model. The phantom 4 performs better in the wind but is also discontinued and a lot larger. Comes down to what type of situation you are filming.
