It says it's only good up to 100' with blue tooth. Don't think that will help too many people.

Actually heard on one of the videos that the device must be within 100 ft of "one of the millions of users" to work properly, unless I'm not understanding something.... oh well

You're understanding it correctly. If you can guarantee you'll always lose it within 100 feet of a TrackR user, then you're golden.
