I found atleast two Kickstarter campaigns for autonomous drones that autonomously follow desired person.

I cant imagine any stupider idea than a drone that flies autonomously without object avoidance system. Hex+ and AirDog dont have anykind of awareness / avoidance system what so ever. So they might work in certain surroundings, but as you can imagine... What could possibly go wrong with a drone that has 0 awareness of its surroundings and flies by itself.
The Hex+ as far as I understand relies on videotracking, where the following is based on realtime videotracking. Even my AfterEffects motion tracker gets confused sometimes and in the middle of the track starts to track something that it wasnt supposed to track. Even with my 6core i7 with 32gb of RAM the tracking isnt working in real-time. What could possibly go wrong with an videotracker that works in realtime and is powered by an CPU size of an nut.
