The different ways to Calibrate the compass

It is interesting to see the different ways to calibrate the compass.
I personally use the method Colin Guinn shows here, as this was the way I learned from the beginning:

but see that a lot of people do the body spin method like this:

I think both are equally effective, but I saw that this guy does the 2nd part differently (by rotating along the copter's arm axis like a ferris wheel) which seems odd. I guess it works since that's how he's been doing it:

We just had a couple of topics here about the different ways of doing this. Seems to be either way works fine.
 
Trigger it in your app. It will show you how.

Been there. Just point camera down and hit the record button first!! epical
 
I used to routinely do the third method until I saw the video from Guinn...i haven't noticed any difference really but now do "the dance" to calibrate.
 
I've been doing it method #3 as well and I get blinking confirmations that it's calibrated. I think I'll switch to method #1 and see if there is any performance difference
