the aerial

When flying the phantom what position should the aerial be in ,, upright or strait out. Please excuse the spelling.

I had to google that one. An "aerial" is another term for antenna.

It should be like this:

It's pure preference for the standard stock aerial.
As the signal eminates equally 360 degrees from the aerial.
What matters is, distance.

The more higher end directional aerials will get downright picky.
Some will have to be pointed in the direction of the craft.
