Taranis and Phantom2, throttle stick with ATTI and GPS

Hi,
I'm buying a Taranis as the stock radio is getting me down without expo and dual rate.
What is confusing me is that the the stock P2 controller has both sticks spring loaded which makes sense when flying GPS or ATTI.
AFAIK left stick in mode 2 is throttle which is usually not spring loaded on the vertical axis, and if so how does one use it to fly GPS/ATTI?

Should I just order a replacement spring loaded gimbal?
Please advise?

ERM, seems as it's a simple operation with the Taranis, just open the shell and fiddle with some screws.
