After setting the way points my drone lifts off and goes up at an angle. How do I get it to lift straight up?
Take off or lift off is not straight up

Set your first waypoint above your takeoff point, at a height closer to that of the next waypoint. Or, take off first and manually climb to that height before executing the mission.
Right now the Phantom is taking the shortest path from current position (launch point) to the first waypoint, which will be a diagonal line (the angle you described).
