Switching Transmitters on Phantom 2 Vision

Does anyone know how I connect a new transmitter to my Phantom 2 Vision? Is there an obvious procedure to disconnect it from the (broken) transmitter that it came with and connect it instead to my new one? (which is identical, DJI, etc.)

Any help appreciated... thanks!

Page 11 of the manual. Section 3.6.

1. Power off the remote controller, power on the aircraft. You will see the link indicator blinking red.
2. Press the link button with a thin object and hold until the link indicator blinks yellow. Release the link button. Power on the remote controller and the link indicator should switch off. This indicates that the link has been
