Swipe Left Trick???

I read these tips from the DJI forum, and tip #4 looks nice for resetting the home point, screen brightness, etc... by "swiping left" in DJI GO 4. However, I can not get it to work on my DJI Phantom 4 while connected to my iPad Mini 4. Any ideas if this should work for IOS and a P4 in DJI GO 4 and if so, how exactly do you swipe to make it work?

I can't get it to work on an Air 2 when connected. I keep forgetting to try after take off, not sure if that's how it's supposed to work.
