After the close encounter with the tree on day one, and subsequent 'just test everything is still working' day two I was itching to fly again.

Down here in Melbourne it's winter though so I leave for work at that start of sunrise and get home after sunset.

Worked from home today, so as soon as I could I quickly ran round the house and headed to the local lake just before sunset.... and.... no SD card. Both were at home.

That mistake though, whilst disappointing as it was beautiful there, was probably the best thing that could happen. Instead of focusing on ensuring I was capturing the right footage I could just concentrate on flying, and it has restored my confidence and was thoroughly enjoyable. I'm still getting used to the transition from small quad to arial platform (most things are better, but numerous things are 'different' and require adjustment) and I think ignoring the footage for the first week will become a suggestion I make to anyone who makes the same transition.
