So I would think most would agree that the two or three top subjects on these forums are, in no particular order:
1) "updated software and now can't connect/bricked"
2) "fly away! Help, not my fault"
As for #1 - what is the likely % failure rate of updating the firmware/software?
Is it very common, as reading these forums would indicate, or is it only because it is a huge problem when it does go poorly that you read the anger in posts?
Is it 10% of the time, 20%, 5% ?
The reason I ask, I haven't updated since I unboxed in December, out of fear I guess.
I am tiring of flying with my iphone 6 as my screen, especially on bright sunny days. I am thinking of getting a dedicated display/tablet of some kind and it occurred to me that when installing software to a new tablet, it might require me to update it on the bird too. (can someone confirm?)
If it is 10% of the time or less and most commonly a user error, I will not worry as much about it and do it. If the failure rate is higher and subject to less human error and more the code itself, I will wait.
Thanks in advance
