State lawmakers will again discuss weaponized drones during a Judiciary committee meeting Thursday.

A new bill is aimed at banning the weaponization of drones from civilian use; permitting them to be used only by law enforcement officers.

The bill was needed after a video was posted on Youtube by a Connecticut teen that showed a drone firing four shots with no one pulling a trigger. The video also caught the eye federal authorities.

The House of Representatives failed to vote on a proposal last session, just weeks before the teen strapped a gun to a drone and posted the video online.

Lawmakers said they want to make it a crime for someone to put a weapon on a drone. As for police, they are looking at allowing this for law enforcement, but with some regulation
