I'm just checking out my Phantom 1.1.1 after it spent several days in a tree, when I run the motor test in the assistant software all motors respond but one sounds different from the others (higher pitched), is this normal or would that indicate a bad motor?

I too would like a good understanding on the motors.
Are the motors on 1.1.1 worthy or is an upgraded recommended? They not only sound different but they feel different when turned. The thing is they always have. Doesn't seem right. Anyone with any insight on this is greatly appreciated.

If the flight performance is normal but the motors sound different, you may only want to replace the ball bearing.
But before doing that, you might want to balance the motors first.
Also to keep the motors in top shape, you will want to lubricate them every 10 or so flights.
