Shotcut Video Editor

I am just wondering if anybody uses this Open Source video editing software, and if so, what your experience has been. I am by no means cheap and unwilling to pay for a quality program for this purpose, but I have had fairly good luck with Open Source software in the past, and this has me intrigued..

I am still in the learning curve for it as I wish I had someone to help me just for the initials try outs, on mine (win 10) I have no crash as reported by some.
There is a James Woo that for $29.00 has a step by step youtube tutorial to help but I don't know if its any good ?
